1. This meeting of the City Council of the City of Cedar Hills, having been posted throughout the City and the press notified, was called to order at 6:16 p.m. by Mayor McGee.
2. Report on Decisions 2006 Survey (6:16 p.m.)
See handouts. Dave Spatafore of Insight Research presented the results on Decisions 2006. The margin of error is +/- 5%.
2. Golf Course Presentation (6:46 p.m.)
Joe Strom and Shaun Rothwell of Ross Investments presented a proposal on the golf course. Ross Investments is interested in purchasing the Alpine Country Club, Cedar Hills Golf Course and property north of Lone Peak High School for a country club. The country club would include a private membership, 36-hole golf club. Economies of scale would allow the combined courses to use one clubhouse and driving range. Development might then be possible on the Cedar Hills Golf Course clubhouse and driving range land. The land north of the high school would house a large fitness/spa facility. Memberships could be bought for the combined golf club/fitness facility or just the fitness facility. The options for purchasing the Cedar Hills Golf Course would be (1) Lease with option to purchase, although financing arrangements might not allow the course to be leased. Or (2) Purchase course for appraised value. The $2.8 million gap could be bridged by allowing development at the clubhouse and driving range. The Council will consider options and submit questions to Ross Investments.
3. This meeting was adjourned at 7:17 p.m. by Mayor McGee.
